Lamont Robinson, Middle School Athletic Commissioner for the Oakland Section, has been a driving force behind expanding athletic opportunities for all middle school students in the Oakland Unified School District. An Oakland native, Lamont draws on his deep roots and extensive network to champion youth sports as a vehicle for growth, engagement, and community.

Through his leadership, he has built a comprehensive system that emphasizes skill development, strategic coach-athlete matching, and the cultivation of athletic directors who are equipped to support both coaches and student-athletes.

His work has significantly raised awareness around the importance of middle school athletics and has laid a strong foundation for long-term athletic and personal success among Oakland’s youth.
