William Chavarin serves as the Assistant Commissioner in the Oakland Section, bringing 24 years of experience as an educator, including nine years as a high school principal. A proud native of Oakland, William has dedicated his career to the growth and success of young people, both in the classroom and on the field. His leadership is rooted in a deep commitment to equity, opportunity, and excellence for all students.

As Assistant Commissioner, he continues to champion academic achievement and athletic development, working to create programs that inspire, support, and uplift Oakland’s youth.
