Cross Country
The purpose of the sport of cross country in the Oakland Section is to promote endurance, mental toughness, and self-discipline among student-athletes through long-distance running.
Cross country offers students a chance to challenge themselves individually while also contributing to team success, fostering both personal growth and a sense of camaraderie. The sport encourages healthy lifestyle habits, goal setting, and perseverance, all within a supportive and inclusive environment.
Through participation in cross country, students not only build physical fitness and resilience but also develop a strong connection to nature and their local community as they compete across varied outdoor courses throughout Oakland.
